Pot for pets. It’s a fundraiser to help Tri-Cities homeless dogs and cats
A Tri-Cities marijuana store is joining in efforts to renovate the Tri-Cities 70-year-old animal shelter.
Green2Go in Finley and CBD Wellness in Kennewick will donate part of their sales on Tuesday, Feb. 11, to Tri-Cities Animal Control’s managing organization, Chicle Animal Foundation.
The shelter is owned by the Pasco, Kennewick and Richland but managed by the foundation.
While plans to replace the building date back more than 10 years, the project has yet to come together. And concerned volunteers formed the Facebook group #NothingFancyJustFunctional to share their concerns and ideas.
Last week, they attended the Richland City Council meeting to share their worries. And volunteers plan to go to the Pasco council meeting Monday, Feb. 10, and Kennewick council on Feb. 11.
Kennewick Mayor Pro Tem Steve Lee and his wife own Green2Go.
The business sent a news release Monday encouraging customers to “bring your well behaved fur-baby” to the stores Tuesday for a discount and part of the proceeds would be donated.
Animal shelter representatives are expected to be at the store Tuesday, as well.
