Woman dies in snowmobile crash as she heads home in Oregon

A 58-year-old Weston woman was heading home by snowmobile when she wrecked and died Wednesday evening.

The condition of the roads forced JoLynn Lieuallen to park her car at her mother’s home at the end of Lieuallen Road and take the snowmobile home. A family member became concerned when she didn’t check in and went looking for her.

He discovered the crash and called 911 when he couldn’t revive her, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office said.

East Umatilla County Fire and Rescue and the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office needed help from local snowmobilers and a snowcat operated by an Umatilla County Electric employee to reach Lieuallen.

She died at the scene.
