Looking for lunch in Columbia Park

A mature bald eagle perches on a tree branch overlooking the Columbia Park Pond in Kennewick.

The national bird of the U.S. is an opportunistic feeder, eating mainly fish.

Its natural range covers most of North America, so it’s not unusual to spot one in Columbia Park, in the Yakima River delta near Richland and in the trees along the Pasco shoreline.
