Power knocked out to hundreds in west Pasco, darkening 3 schools
Three schools and 700 homes and businesses in west Pasco were without power about an hour Tuesday.
A car hit an anchoring wire on a power pole near Road 79 and Court Street, knocking out electricity to 736 customers about 12:15 p.m., the Franklin PUD said.
The outage set off alarms at McLoughlin Middle School, according to initial reports. Livingston Elementary was also affected.
It also closed Kingspoint Christian School near the corner of Court Street and Road 80. School officials are asking parents to pick up their children.
Franklin PUD officials said they were able to return power to nearly all the homes and businesses by 1:15 p.m.
