Spectrum finishes repairs, ending Tri-Cities internet outage and slowdown

Some Washington state customers of Spectrum internet service continued to have problems Monday morning but repairs were finished by 1 p.m., said company officials.

Construction work damaged a third-party carrier’s fiber-optic network over the weekend, taking out Spectrum’s internet service in the Tri-Cities and other parts of Central and Eastern Washington.

Spectrum’s engineering team worked with the carrier to restore service on Sunday afternoon.

But some customers still had only intermittent or degraded service on Monday while crews finished repairing the damage.
