I-90 lanes reopen after snowy Snoqualmie crashes. More snow expected
Interstate 90 westbound lanes were closed east of Snoqualmie Pass late Thursday afternoon for about an hour due to crashes blocking the highway.
The interstate was reopened shortly after 5 p.m., but chains were being required.
The Washington state Department of Transportation said it was snowing hard late afternoon when the closure east of Easton was announced.
Eastbound lanes remained open.
The National Weather Service forecasts another four to eight inches of new snow Thursday night at Snoqualmie Pass and one to three inches on Friday.
The Department of Transportation put the total snow expected for Thursday and Thursday night at more than a foot, and said drivers can expect an additional 30 minutes of travel time from Cle Elum to North Bend.
