A Veteran Service Fair in Richland will start with a pinning ceremony to honor Vietnam Veterans.

Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., is planning the ceremony Saturday in partnership with the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration to thank and honor veterans of that war.

The free service fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Richland Red Lion , 802 George Washington Way.

Veterans and their families can get help with Veterans Administration claims and benefits paperwork, learn about education and employment opportunities and connect with local veterans organizations.

The VA Mobile Vet Center will be on site to provide counseling, screening, referrals and resources to veterans transitioning to civilian life.

Veterans can participate in interviews to be submitted to the Library of Congress Veterans History Project.

The fair opens with the 10 a.m. pinning ceremony.

Newhouse will present veterans with a service lapel pin and a certificate of appreciation for their service. The pin also can be presented to a surviving family member.

Register to receive a pin at /bit.ly/NewhousePinning on the internet or stop by Newhouse’s Tri-Cities office at 3100 George Washington Way, Suite 130, Richland, to fill out a registration form.
