Ever wanted to play with axes inside? You’ll get your chance soon in Kennewick

You may be able to try your hand at throwing axes when a new Kennewick business opens.

Work has started on the Kennewick Avenue location for the new Heber Hatchets Axe Throwing. It’s still uncertain when it will open its doors.

It will be next to Layered Cake Artistry at 120 Kennewick Ave.

While business leaders contacted the city to check on zoning regulations, they haven’t asked for a business license yet, said Evelyn Lusignan, a city spokeswoman.

The business opened its first location in 2018, and has grown to six spots, including one in Spokane. Each venue offers a selection of axe throwing games.

“We believe that everyone has a lumberjack or jill inside of them — we just help you find it!” the business said on its website.

“Our axe throwing games are the perfect way to mix it up for your next corporate event, party or other group activity,” says the company.

The business charges $10 to $15 an hour per person, depending on how many are in your group. And one of their lumberjacks or lumberjills will show you proper safe throwing techniques.

The outlets do not serve alcohol but you’re encouraged to bring in food.

And while it’s a family friendly venue, throwers must be at least 11 years old. A parent must sign a waiver for anyone under 18.
