Pasco’s Rascal Rodeo for disabled riders headed to national stage in Las Vegas

A Pasco-based nonprofit is hitting the big stage this weekend.

The Rascal Rodeo is taking over an arena during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas on Sunday, Dec. 8, to give special needs children and adults a chance to participate, said Ann-Erica Whitemarsh, the organization’s executive director.

The 9-year-old Rascal Rodeo group was invited to hold and an event at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

“The one word to describe Rascal Rodeo is miraculous,” says the Rascal Rodeo website. “If you’ve never attended one of our events, come to witness the pure joy that takes place.”

While online registrations are no longer being accepted, they will be taking participants until the event closes. They brought along a big pile of belt buckles to give to each of the riders.

All of the organization’s rodeos are free to participants thanks to the help of community and business sponsors.

To donate visit the group’s website or Facebook page or text RODEO to 41444.
