Driver walks away from wreck near blue bridge after crash

High speeds are being blamed for a crash that slowed traffic on the blue bridge heading into Pasco Thursday morning.

A driver was going about 60 mph as she was leaving the roundabout at the intersection of Highways 240 and 395 in a Jeep shortly before 11 a.m., Trooper Chris Thorson said. The driver lost control on the corner and ended up in a gravel area on the side of the road.

She was wearing her seat belt, and she sustained minor injuries. Someone drove her to a local hospital, Kennewick firefighters said.

“Another friendly reminder to slow down in inclement weather and use good judgment,” Kennewick firefighters said in a Facebook post. “The roads are very slick in the rain!”

Emergency crews were on the scene for about an hour.
