Affordable Tri-Cities childcare will be focus of family ‘play-in’

People interested in family-friendly policies and programs, including affordable childcare, plan a family “play-in” in Pasco.

The average cost of infant care in the Tri-Cities area is $10,728 per year, which is about 55 percent of the millennial median income, according to MomsRising.

The group also is focused on paid family and medical leave.

It plans an informational event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday for families, parents, caregivers, early learning providers and other community members.

Activities will be available for kids, and information and opportunities for action will be available for grown-ups..

The event is at the Mid-Columbia Libraries Pasco Branch, 320 W. Hopkins, Pasco.
