Walla Walla VA to hold Archeology Day this Friday
The Walla Walla Veterans Affairs Medical Center is offering a chance to learn about archeology hands-on this Friday.
Archaeologists and other experts are holding “Archeology Day” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the medical center’s parade grounds. The first-time ever event is free.
Walking tours, artifact identification, hands-on pottery reconstruction, small scale archaeological excavation and several other activities are planned.
Experts from the U.S. Forest Service, VA, Army Corps of Engineers and Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla will participate in the event.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, officials said..
