Family Polar Express Adventure

6-8 p.m. Dec. 21

Central Church, 1124 Stevens Dr., Richland

Free. Enjoy a reading of The Polar Express by Conductor Hank Sauer. After the reading, stay for a showing of The Polar Express movie and enjoy a hot chocolate bar and treats with friends. Pajamas are totally encouraged.

The Living Nativity

6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 21-23

Hillspring Church, 1153 Gage Blvd, Richland

Experience the traditional telling of the Christmas story with Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, angels, Roman soldiers, majestic kings, and shepherd families. Live animals — including camels, sheep, cows, horses and donkeys — help tell the story. Tickets: $10 adults; $5 ages 5-12; free for 4 and under. hillspringtc.org/nativity.

Live Reindeer at the Gesa Carousel of Dreams

Noon-6 p.m. Dec. 22

2901 Southridge Blvd., Kennewick

Bring your camera and you take your picture around the reindeer pen and even pet the animals. While you're here, take a ride on the carousel. which includes a carved reindeer you can ride. There is no cost to see the reindeer. Regular token pricing applies to ride the carousel.

Winter Break Fun — Birds of Prey

10 a.m.-noon Dec. 27-29

Reach museum, 1943 Columbia Park Trail, Richland

Learn all about owls, raptors of the river and the physics of flight during this special three day event. Don’t miss your chance to hold a Great Horned Owl, create bird silhouettes and hunt for food at the Bird Beak Buffet. Different topics each day. Cost is $8 adults; $6 students, seniors and military; free for kids age 5 and under.
