Finley porch pirate has words about his crime
The Finley porch pirate says he’s sorry for what he did.
Andrew L. Witherrite, 24, said in a Facebook post to the Herald that he is “completely remorseful and sorry for what I did.”
“When I seen what people were posting about it and me, I didn’t get mad,” Witherrite said. “It made me realize I don’t want to be that guy in the paper called a ‘porch pirate’ stealing LEGOs that are probably gonna belong to a young child.”
Benton County sheriff’s deputies arrested Witherrite on Monday on suspicion of third-degree theft.
He is accused of stealing packages from a home’s porch on the 25000 block of South Oak Street on Dec. 14.
Deputies identified him from tips from the public. One of the stolen items was recovered.
Witherrite went on to say that he didn’t want his young son to see such things about him, so he has taken steps to fix his mistake.
The post was automatically hidden because it contained a profanity.
