Cooling temperatures will bring a slight chance of snow to the Tri-Cities at the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

But it’s too soon to say whether any precipitation that falls Thursday night and Friday will be snow or rain.

Travelers heading west on Interstate 90 or east on Interstate 84 this week could run into snow.

Snow is forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday on Snoqualmie Pass, with snow possible again Thursday night and Friday. The forecast is similar for those heading east over the Blue Mountains.

Weather should clear for travelers Saturday and Sunday, according to the early forecast.

In the Tri-Cities, rain could fall Monday night and Tuesday, with some clearing Wednesday, according to the weather service.

Thursday the Tri-Cities could see some sunshine through the clouds, before another storm system might move over the Tri-Cities Friday, according to early forecasts.

Skies should finally clear after that and could be sunny for the weekend leading into Christmas Day.

The warm weather of the Sunday just passed will be cooling through the week in the Tri-Cities, with highs falling to the 40s by Wednesday and 30s Thursday through Saturday, according to the weather service.

Lows could be back below freezing from Wednesday night through the weekend.
