53 minutes and 8 miles apart, 2 Sunnyside drivers rolled their pickups on I-82
Two different Sunnyside drivers rolled their pickups Saturday morning in single-vehicle crashes just eight miles away from each other on Interstate 82.
Washington State Patrol troopers first responded at 7:35 a.m. for a 2000 Toyota Tacoma that came to rest on its wheels on the opposite side of the highway.
A state patrol report said Emmanuel Garcia, 26, had been eastbound when he lost control of the truck at milepost 75 in Grandview city limits.
Garcia was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
Then at 8:28 a.m., Steven A. Gabino was traveling west in a 1987 Toyota pickup when he lost control. The truck came to rest on its side at milepost 67 in Sunnyside city limits, a state patrol report said.
Gabino, 27, was treated at Astria Sunnyside Hospital and released.
Garcia and Gabino were driving too fast for the conditions in each wreck, reports said. Both men were wearing seat belts.
