Freezing rain, fog icing Tri-City roads
Freezing rain is pelting parts of the Tri-Cities this morning, making driving slippery in some areas.
The freezing fog and icy roads contributed to two Friday morning crashes in rural Benton County, the sheriff’s office reported.
The vehicles lost control about 7 a.m. in the area of Locust Grove Road and Williams Road as well at near Plymouth Road and Tyrell Road. Both drivers had minor injuries.
The national weather service says rain or freezing rain could could fall into the late evening but the chance of precipitation will dip to about 20 percent.
The high temperature today is expected to be near 33.
Weekend highs are expected to hover in the low 40s and climb closer to 48 by Monday.
