Holiday cheer for needy children
Embroidery club member Susan Peterson, left, and Bruce Cornelly, a resident at Solstice Senior Living in Kennewick, team up Wednesday to fill Santa bags with gifts for kids at the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission in Pasco.
It’s the second year the group from Discount Vac and Sew in Kennewick and the retirement community worked together gathering donations of toys, clothes, blankets, books and toiletries for the children.
Nearly two dozen volunteers filled about 40 personalized cloth gift bags that will be placed by mission staff members outside the doors of the sleeping areas after the kids go to bed on Christmas Eve.
