Look what happened at a Richland McDonald’s while they kept serving breakfast
A Benton City man is questioning why a Richland McDonald’s continued serving food Wednesday while a welder was working on the kitchen ceiling.
Michael Stone was having breakfast at the fast food outlet on Wellsian Way when he saw a worker behind the counter above the food prep area.
When the welder pulled out some equipment, Stone pulled out his phone and began filming.
In the video, sparks and debris appear to fall on workers, including one behind the counter shielding himself. Stone shared a clip with the Herald.
Stone, who lives in Benton City, is a mechanic who took the day off because his girlfriend was having surgery in the Tri-Cities. He and her daughter were getting breakfast.
They were eating when the teen spotted the worker standing in a food prep area. When a worker brought out what appeared to be a grinder, Stone said he was stunned.
“No way, they’re not going to do this,” he said to himself.
Stone said the counter workers continued to take and fill orders.
Stone said he was called back to the hospital and did not talk with any McDonald’s employees. He said he expects to contact the management.
The Herald tried to reach Scott Adams of Adams Enterprises, which operates McDonald’s franchises in the Tri-Cities. He was not immediately available Wednesday to comment on the video and the work in the restaurant.
