Pasco roads reopen after natural gas line scare
A landscape company punctured a gas line in Pasco on Monday morning, forcing evacuations and closing roads for couple of hours.
Cascade Natural Gas is still going door to door to restore service to nearly 50 homes in the neighborhood.
A company working in the 4900 block of Buchanan Lane hit the line at 11:30 a.m.
A few people were asked to leave their homes and roads were closed while Cascade fixed the puncture.
Cascade shut off the service to 49 customers in the neighborhood, said Mark Hanson, a company spokesman. The repairs were finished at 1:40 p.m. and techs are going door-to-door to restore service.
“They should complete the first pass of the 49 customers within a couple of hours,” he said.
If the customer isn’t home, the technicians will leave a door hanger including a phone number to call to restore service.
Cascade serves 28,500 customers in the Tri-Cities.
