87-year-old driver blamed for Dallas Road crash

An 87-year-old man was cited Friday after he caused a crash at Dallas Road and Interstate 82 south of Kennewick.

The Washington State Patrol said Richard E. Brandt of Pasco was driving north on Dallas Road when he tried to turn left and get onto the interstate.

Derek B. Larche, 31, of Benton City, was headed south on Dallas Road in his Ford Mustang.

The state patrol said Brandt, driving a Honda Fit sedan, failed to yield to Larche, and they collided.

Brandt and Larche weren’t hurt. Brandt’s passenger, James L. Wilson, 55, of Seattle, was transported to Trios Southridge Hospital in Kennewick.

Troopers cited Brandt for failing to yield.
