Travelers in the Northwest will get a break this Thanksgiving.

Temperatures should be unusually warm, but rainy this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Expect rain each day this week through Thanksgiving day in the Tri-Cities. Friday could clear to be mostly sunny, with more rain possible over the weekend.

The high temperature on Thanksgiving could be 64, up from a high of about 47 forecast for Tuesday. Normal highs for late November in the Tri-Cities are in the low to mid 40s.

Those heading west on Interstate 90 for the holiday can expect rain nearly every day through the weekend after Thanksgiving.

But with highs in the 40s most days, according to the early forecast, no snow is expected.

It’s the same for those headed east in Interstate 84 across the Blue Mountains and those heading north to Spokane. Expect rain, but no snow, according to the weather service.
