Restaurant inspectors fail 7 of 26 establishments
The food safety team from the Benton-Franklin Health District conducted 26 inspections during the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 3.
Seven establishments rated follow-up visits after scoring 25 or more red points on a 418-point scale for food safety and sanitation practices.
Eight more earned perfect marks while the rest fell in the middle.
The health district monitors the food handling practices of more than 1,000 licensed food retail establishments in the Mid-Columbia, a broad category that covers everything from full-service restaurants and schools to coffee shops and concession stands.
