Amaryllis fundraiser, party in Prosser set Nov. 18

Now’s the time to buy someone special to you an amaryllis flower — and support a good cause.

The third annual Dr. Burr Field Scholarship Fund is selling a range colors this year during its Pick Up Party from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Brewminatti, 713 6th St., Prosser. Each flower is sold for $25.

If you can’t make the party, you can always go to the scholarship fund’s website, www.drburrfield.org.

The red “Merry Christmas” varietal bloomed early this year, just in time for the holiday.

Proceeds benefit the scholarship, which goes to students who commit to practicing family medicine in Eastern Washington. The fund gave out two $3,000 scholarships last year to two University of Washington students.
