Take it easy over this ‘speed’ bump
Traffic drives slowly over a specially designed metal “speed bump” that is actually part of a temporary above-ground sewer line bypass system in place on South Union Street between West 14th and West 19th avenues in Kennewick.
Workers from C and E Trenching in Pasco are installing a larger underground sewer line for the city of Kennewick.
The project is creating congestion and delays and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area until the work is completed.
Paving of the street is expected next week.
A similar sewer line improvement project on South Washington Street near 14th Avenue starts on Monday.
It’s expected to last three weeks.
