Volunteer barber Daniel Henkel of Trend Setters in Kennewick finishes up a free haircut and beard trim for David Hilpert, an Army veteran from Connell, Thursday morning at the fourth annual Veterans Appreciation Fair & Stand Down Event in Kennewick.

Several hundred veterans were expected at the Southridge Event Center for the event organized by the Veterans Opportunity Center.

Services provided included haircuts, housing assistance, legal and financial support services, medical screenings and employment workshops.
