Veterans Day Parade

The annual West Richland Veterans Day Parade will wind through the city starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The parade starts at the intersection of West Van Giesen Street and Grosscup Boulevard and end at West Van Giesen and S. 38th Avenue.

Veterans Day Service

The annual Veterans Day observance at the Regional Veterans Memorial in Columbia Park in Kennewick is set for 11 a.m. Saturday. State Rep. Brad Klippert, R-Kennewick, and Port of Kennewick Commissioner Tom Moak will speak.

The ceremony is organized by Cherie McMillin, widow of Tom McMillin, who spearheaded the effort to build the memorial at Columbia Park.

Veterans eat free

▪ Texas Roadhouse offers a free lunch for veterans and active members of the U.S. military 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in honor of Veterans Day. The restaurant is at 845 N. Columbia Center Blvd.

▪ Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar offers fee meals to veterans and active-duty military members Saturday in honor of Veterans Day. The chain has locations in Kennewick, Richland, Pasco and Walla Walla.

▪ Taco City, a Pasco food truck, will serve four free tacos to retired and active-duty veterans on Saturday in the TRAC parking lot, 6600 Burden Blvd. Valid ID is required.

▪ The Elks will hold a Veteran’s Appreciation Dinner at the lodge, at 5 p.m. Friday, 15 S. Colorado in Kennewick. The spaghetti dinner is free for veterans; $5 for others. The Elks will also celebrate the 242nd birthday of the Marine Corps and there will be a presentation on some members’ recent trip to Normandy.

▪ PMH Medical Center will be providing their free annual breakfast to veterans and their families from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday at the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center, 2140 Wine Country Road, Prosser.

▪ The Columbia River Young Marines invite veterans to its free annual appreciation dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Arc of Tri-Cities, 1455 Fowler St., Richland. Spaghetti, salad, bread and desert will be served to veterans and their families.

▪  Dinner Free for Veterans on Saturday at the American Legion Hall, 908 Dale, Benton City. Program features Vickie Bowls and starts at 5 p.m. Dinner to follow.

New plaza opening at Einan’s at Sunset

Einan’s at Sunset funeral home in Richland held a dedication ceremony Friday for its new Veterans Memorial Plaza.

The plaza features a large bronze statue and more than 300 cremation niches and cenotaph options. The Richland and West Richland Veterans of Foreign Wars donated toward buying the statue. The plaza includes a section for first responders, as well.

The Sunset Gardens Veterans Garden is at 915 Bypass Highway, Richland.
