Fire engulfs Finley shop, destroys vehicles

A car and a truck were destroyed early Tuesday when fire ravaged a shop in Finley.

The two residents of a home at 33606 2138 PR S.E. woke shortly before 2:30 a.m. to find the nearby shop burning. The road is just east of the intersection of Haney and Cochran roads.

Benton County Fire District 1 was joined by Kennewick and Richland fire departments in extinguishing the blaze.

Firefighters were still at the scene Tuesday morning extinguishing hot spots.

Fire Chief Lonnie Click said the residents weren’t sure what caused the fire. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation, he said.

No one was hurt.
