Restaurant inspection list shortened by Tri-City fair week

Mid-Columbia restaurant inspection results through Aug. 25, 2017
Mid-Columbia restaurant inspection results through Aug. 25, 2017 Tri-City Herald

This week’s batch of restaurant inspection results is relatively light because of the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo in Kennewick in late August.

The Benton Franklin health District’s food safety team regularly inspects more than 1,000 food retail establishments, including vendors who operate at the fair and other special events.

Establishments are rated on a 418-point scale. Those earning 25 or more “red” points on routine inspections and 10 or more on follow-ups are slated for additional visits.

Inspectors scrutinize kitchens and retail operations for food handling practices, knowledge, sanitary conditions and other issues, including if workers have Washington State Food Worker Cards as required for all kitchen and wait staff.

Past restaurant inspections can be viewed at bfhd.wa.gov/food/index.php. Direct questions and concerns to 509-460-4205.
