A trio of men are being hailed as heroes after jumping into an irrigation canal Saturday to save a semi-truck driver who lost control of his rig.

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies said the truck loaded with corn failed to stop at the intersection of Booker Road and Highway 17 and plunged in the water.

It quickly sank with the driver inside.

Osman Ramirez, Elit Espino and Lupe Artiaga stripped down to their underwear and dove in to pull him out.

The driver had minor injuries. Deputies are investigating what happened.
