McNary Dam’s lock to briefly close for maintenance

McNary Dam’s navigation lock on the Columbia River will be closed to recreational boaters on Wednesday.

The Army Corps of Engineers said the outage is needed to inspect the downstream gate with water in the lock as low as possible.

Recreational boaters can find information on nearby Corps-managed boat launches at www.nww.usace.army.mil/corpsoutdoors.

The Corps also coordinates maintenance closures with inland shippers and cruise lines to reduce the effect on businesses.
