Benton City motorcyclist crashes on I-82

A motorcyclist hit a rock and crashed Wednesday evening on Interstate 82 near West Richland.

Tucker D. Gallagher, 21, of Benton City, was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release.

The state patrol said Gallagher was riding the inside shoulder on westbound I-82 at milepost 102. He struck a rock and went off the roadway.

Gallagher was cited with improper lane usage and not having a motorcycle endorsement. He had a helmet on. His 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 500 was impounded.
