Have your say on lease for Southridge vehicle charging stations

A public hearing is planned Tuesday to consider whether the Benton PUD should lease Kennewick city land at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex for electric vehicle charging stations.

The Benton PUD Commission hearing is set for 9 a.m. at 2721 W. 10th Ave., Kennewick.

The public utility district would execute a sublease with Greenlots/EV4 for the charging stations, as part of a project of Tri-City area agencies to promote the establishment of charging stations around the Tri-Cities area.

Whether the project at 2901 Southridge Blvd. goes forward depends on receiving a Washington state grant, but a public hearing on the lease must be held before then.
