Delta student wins first-ever R. Guy Jones scholarship

The first annual R. Guy Jones Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to Delta High School graduate Sanjay Philip in the sum of $2,500.

The scholarship was created by Dr. Guy Jones of the Tri-Cities Cancer Center in memory of his father, R. Guy Jones, whom he lost at a young age.

Philip, who will attend Whitworth University in the fall to pursue a career in health care, will receive the scholarship at 12:30 p.m. July 21 at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
