Wanted: Candidates in Kahlotus, Mesa, Franklin County fire districts

Franklin County will hold a special filing period next week after some local races failed to attract candidates during the regular filing week, which ended Friday.

Franklin County is seeking candidates for a series of races that drew no interest during the recently concluded filing period.

The special filing period is May 24 to 26.

The positions that remain open with no candidates include the Port of Kahlotus Commission (District 3), Mesa City Council (Positions 2 and 3), Fire District No. 2 Commission (Position 4) and Fire District No. 5 Commission (Positions 1 and 2).
