Major Scotty Smiley will speak at the Franklin County Republicans Lincoln Day Dinner May 5 at the Pasco Red Lion.

Smiley, a Pasco High football star and graduate of West Point, was blinded by a bomb in Iraq. A lack of sight has not stopped him from climbing Mount Rainier and finishing Iron Man Triathlons.

His story of courage is told in his book Hope Unseen.

The event starts at 5 p.m. at the Pasco Red Lion. Cost is $65 and tickets may be purchased at www.franklinrepublicans.com.
