McNary Dam lock open for weekend boaters

Boaters will be able to use the lock through the McNary Dam on the Columbia River near Umatilla this weekend, according to the Army Corps.

The lock opened Friday evening, after it was expected to be out of service until Monday.

The lock was closed to river traffic starting Dec. 12 as part of an extended maintenance outage for locks at dams on the Snake and Columbia rivers.
