No traffic is allowed across the Lower Monumental Dam on the Snake River near Kahlotus from Thursday through Jan. 7.

Maintenance crews are cleaning river debris from the turbine intake trash racks, according to the Army Corps of Engineers. The closure allows workers to use a large mobile crane for the work.

The nearest vehicle bridges across the Snake River are on Highway 12 near Burbank and on Highway 261 near Starbuck.
