A “Standing with Standing Rock” protest is at 1 p.m. Nov. 20 at John Dam Plaza, 803 George Washington Way, Richland.

The protest is to oppose the North Dakota Standing Rock oil pipeline, which has raised concerns about the potential threat to a primary water source. Other rallies and marches, including in Tacoma and Bellingham, were held this week in support of the North Dakota tribe.

The national focus on the struggle over the pipeline has brought attention to other Native American issues throughout the country, including in Washington state.

For more information on Sunday’s event, contact the Rev. Doak M. Mansfield at minister@communityuu.org.
