Tri-City restaurant inspections through Oct. 28
Each Monday, the Tri-City Herald publishes results for restaurant inspections conducted by the Benton-Franklin Health District inspections.
Beginning this week, the report includes results of establishments with results triggering a re-inspection, as well as those that passed.
By law, all establishments that sell food are subject to inspection, from full-service restaurants to coffee carts to gas stations.
Establishments are rated on a state point system up to 415 points based on the federal food code for the conditions in the restaurant at the time of the unannounced inspection.
Red points reflect more concerning issues that require immediate inspection. An establishment receiving 25 or more points on a routine inspection must be re-inspected. Those that receive 10 or more when they’re re-inspected are inspected again. Blue points indicate situations that need to be fixed, but not immediately.
To view copies of the health department’s reports for all establishments inspected regardless of results, go to tricityherald.com.
Past inspections can be viewed on the health district’s webpage, bit.ly/Tri-CityRestaurantInspections. For questions concerning reports, call the health district at 509-460-4205.
