Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo donated $11,235 to cancer prevention
The Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo is donating $11,235 to help people with breast cancer screenings and treatment.
It donated the money as part of the Tough Enough to Wear Pink program.
The fair partners with the Kadlec Foundation, the Trios Foundation, the Lourdes Foundation and the PMH Foundation to provide help.
Since the program started 10 years ago, the fair has given more than $153,000 to area programs and helped provide more than 1,500 uninsured woman with free mammograms, cancer screenings and other assistance.
A portion of the money came from memorial donations honoring George Clary. He was a long-time fair board member whose wife recently battled breast cancer.
