Damage to a fiber-optic cable cut telephone, TV and internet service to an undisclosed number of Charter Communications customers in the Tri-Cities on Tuesday.

Customers reported losing service as early as 6:30 a.m. and remained off line through the afternoon.

Bret Picciolo, Northwest regional communications director, said crews were working to repair the damage and restore service. Further details were not immediately available.
