Cooling temperatures in Tri-City forecast
It may be time to put away the tank tops and flip flops for the year.
After highs this week that have reached the 80s, cooler temperatures are forecast as September ends and October begins.
The high temperature in the Tri-Cities should drop into the mid 70s. By Saturday highs are expected to drop into the upper 60s and remain there through at least Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Overnight low temperatures also will be cooling, with highs in the mid to upper 40s starting this weekend.
In the mountains precipitation should fall as snow above 5,500 feet, according to the weather service.
