Benton City woman hurt in I-82 rollover

A woman was hurt when her SUV rolled on Interstate-82 near just a mile west of Benton City on Monday.

Mercedes Valdez, 27, of Benton City, was driving a Chevy Blazer east on Interstate 82 about 9 a.m. when she lost control, veered into the median and rolled, said the Washington State Patrol.

Valdez, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where she was later listed in satisfactory condition.

The WSP cited Valdez for second-degree negligent driving.
