Concussions workshop set Sept. 26

Providence Health, the Brain Injury Alliance of Washington, and Walla Walla Community College will present a concussion summit from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Walla Walla Community College, Building E.

The course will give information on what to do if an athlete receives a concussion.

Featured speakers are Stan Herring, the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners team physician; lawyer Melissa D. Carter; and Zackery Lystedt, who along with his parents helped to implement concussions laws throughout the country, such as the Lystedt Law in Washington in 2009.

The event is free. Participants will be offered two free clock hours through the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
