Election 2016: Forums to introduce candidates to Tri-City voters

Tri-City voters can meet candidates for elected office at a series of upcoming forums.

Sept. 26

Candidates to represent districts 8, 9 and 16 in the state Legislature will participate in a luncheon forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Country Gentleman restaurant, 9221 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.

The cost is $14. The event is sponsored by the Benton Franklin School Retirees Association. Call 509-521- 4124 for information.

Sept. 27

Candidates to represent districts 8, 9 and 16 in the state Legislature will participate in a candidate forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 27 at Columbia Basin College’s Gjerde Center, 2600 N. 20th Ave., Pasco.

The event is sponsored by the League of United Latin American Citizens. Call 509-420-0596.

Oct. 12

Candidates for state superintendent of public instruction and state attorney general will participate in a forum at 6 p.m. at the Pasco police regional training center at 204 W. Clark St.

The event is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters, the Washington and Mid-Columbia STEM networks and the Latino Coalition of Tri-Cities. Email maryehlers@comcast.net for information.

Oct. 19

Gov. Jay Inslee and Republican challenger Bill Bryant will debate at 8 p.m. at Columbia Basin College in Pasco.

It is the third of four gubernatorial debates scheduled statewide, and is sponsored by the Washington State Debate Coalition.
