Get a free mask at Richland drive-thru giveaway on Saturday

Reusable masks to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus will be given out for free from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, in Richland.

Benton County Emergency Management gave the city of Richland 1,500 of the face coverings.

Masks will be given out to anyone who wants one at the drive-thru giveaway at the police station, 871 George Washington Way.

People should remain in their car and city staff wearing personal protective equipment will pass out the masks to them.

Local and state orders require most people to wear masks in public and require businesses to refuse service to people who are not wearing masks.

Businesses must provide other reasonable accommodations, such as serving people at their cars or delivery services, for customers who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, according to public health officials.
