Washington state COVID-19 case total now at 9,608 with 446 deaths

Washington’s Department of Health reported on Thursday there are now 9,608 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 446 deaths.

That’s up from 9,097 confirmed cases and 421 deaths reported on the state’s website Wednesday.

Washington’s reported COVID-19 case totals have been lagging for days as the reporting system struggles to process its volume of test results. There are 838 cases in the state that haven’t been assigned a county.

King County has reported the most cases in the state with 3,886 cases — up 198 from Wednesday — and 258 deaths. Snohomish County has the second-most reported cases with 1,745 cases and 103 deaths, according to its website.

Pierce County reported 45 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing its total to 838 with 17 deaths.
