Kadlec and clinics ban most visitors. Trios, Lourdes tighten policies due to COVID-19
Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland is allowing no visitors for most of its patients starting Tuesday, it announced Monday night.
Hospitals in Kennewick and Pasco also have tightened restrictions on visitors during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“Kadlec understands the importance and value of patients having access to their loved ones while receiving care in the hospital and clinics,” it said in a statement.
“However, there are times when limitations must be placed on incoming visitors to reduce the potential spread of disease. This is one of those times,” it said.
The ban on visitors extends beyond the hospital to prohibit patients from being accompanied by family and friends at all Kadlec clinics and care centers.
They include the Freestanding Emergency Department in Kennewick, Urgent Care or Express Care Clinic, Kadlec Healthplex, Kadlec Outpatient Imaging Center and the Tri-Cities Regional Surgery Center and Kadlec Ambulatory Surgery Center.
The only exceptions will be for children who are hospital patents, labor and delivery and patients receiving end of life care.
For those very limited exceptions visitors must be at least 18 years old and have no cold or flu-like symptoms and no fever.
The hospital will be screening visitors at all entrances.
Trios Health
Trios Health in Kennewick has updated its visitor restrictions.
At Trios Southridge Hospital patients may designate two visitors, but only one of them may visit at a time.
Visitors must be 18 or older and will be required to show photo ID to enter the hospital.
The exception is patients younger than 15 who can have two parents or guardians visit at the same time.
At the Trios Family Birthing Center only one visitor, who must be at least 18, is allowed and may visit just once per day. Visitors may not wait in the waiting room.
All visitors to both hospital campuses must be at least 18 and must show photo ID at the door.
They also will be screened for respiratory symptoms and travel history.
Lourdes Health
At Lourdes Health in Pasco, the gift shop, Fourth Avenue Bistro and the espresso bar have been closed.
Patients can designate two visitors but just one can visit at a time and are required to show photo ID to enter the hospital.
An exception is made for children younger than 15, who may have two parents or guardians visit at the same time.
