New COVID-19 vaccines recommended for almost everyone. Where can I get one in Tri-Cities?
In late August, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved an updated COVID-19 vaccine and the rollout has been quick.
Both Pfizer and Moderna/BioNTech have updated options for the Novavax 2024-25 formula.
The updated vaccine is recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older.
While time has passed since the height of the pandemic, the coronavirus never went away. With fewer people getting regular boosters as time goes on, the more exposed the population gets to new strains.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stresses the importance of staying up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations.
It is especially vital for those at high-risk for severe COVID symptoms, including those ages 65 and up, immunocompromised people and anyone who has never been vaccinated for COVID.
While there are limited pediatric options, many chain pharmacies already have the updated vaccine in stock.
